We have been growing plants for over thirty years.
For the past twelve years we have been concentrating on the hardier South African species and in particular Agapanthus. We have been building up our range of these beautiful plants, evaluating cultivars and selecting those that perform well and are worthwhile growing. There has been a large number of new Agapanthus cultivars introduced over the last two decades and some are good, others too similar to ones already in cultivation or poor performers. We never chuck out any cultivars but keep them 'ticking over' - either in a stock bed or, if not hardy, a large pot or two that can be protected in a cold winter.
At the last count we had over 250 different agapanthus and if you would like our complete list we would be happy to send it to you. If there is a special one you are looking for and it is on our list then we can most likely help, please ask!
Our plants are propagated and grown on the nursery so are under our care from start to finish. We use top quality, peat-reduced compost with temperature-controlled, slow release fertiliser incorporated to ensure the plants are always the very best quality.
Our main business is mail order and we dispatch our plants worldwide. For local customers and those holidaying in Cornwall who would like to visit our nursery you're welcome but please telephone first (01208 872291) to check we're around because our opening hours are variable.
Our nursery is situated on our farm, Penknight, in the beautiful Cornish countryside just a mile to the west of the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel.
